Principals Behind Aerobic Training


Course Description

No background in the exercise sciences is required. This course covers theory and practical work on how to be aerobics class instructors. Potential Instructors must pass a Written Exam, serve an Apprenticeship and demonstrate on-the-floor leadership competence (the Practical Exam) to earn certification and be eligible to be an aerobics class instructor.

The Theory sections deals with:

  • Philosophy of Exercise and Fitness
  • Workout Design
  • Physiological responses to Exercise and Training
  • Anatomy and Exercise Design
  • Communication skills
  • Nutrition and Weight Control
  • Sports Injuries
  • Motivation
  • Leadership Styles
  • Fitness Program Design

The practical sessions include:

  • Individual and Group Leadership skills
  • Proper Exercise Techniques
  • Weight Lifting Techniques

Fee includes:

  • Course Manuals
  • The Written Exam
  • Apprenticeship (if required)
  • The Practical Exam


Fee $349.00 + HST 

*If more than one Written or Practical Exam is
required, a separate fee will be charged for each one.
