There is at least one formal evaluation for each of the courses. Evaluations may be in the form of written exams, oral exams, practical demonstration or take home assignments, which must be returned no later than three weeks following the course date. Late exams will be subject to a late penalty of 5% per working day after the due date. The pass mark for all exams and assignments is 75%. In the event that an exam does not meet the necessary requirements one rewrite is allowed. If after the rewrite the exam is still not satisfactory the course will have to be redone (free of charge). All exams are retained by the Sport performance Institute Inc. as proof of certification.
Course attendance is mandatory. If it is not possible to participate in the full course do not register for that course date.
Unless otherwise stated all text books and course materials are provided as part of the course. In the event that a text must be purchased every attempt will be made by SPI to find the best price available.
Certificates will be sent out upon successful completion of a course. Certificates are normally sent 4-6 weeks after the exam return deadline. Replacement or extra certificates will be issued for $10.00 each.
Keeping abreast of the latest developments in sport and fitness is one of the responsibilities of a fitness professional. At SPI we feel that continuing education is a fundamental part of any certification program. We also understand that many people have multiple certifications with continuing education and recertification requirements. To maintain an SPI certification you must pay the annual registration fee of $25 and attend one fitness or sport workshop, clinic, seminar, or conference. The due date for the registration fee is one year from the date of the last SPI certification course successfully completed.
A high level of professionalism should be maintained at all times. Sport Performance Institute Inc. reserves the right to remove the certification of any individual who:
. Fails to meet the recertification requirements
. Engages in any illegal activity
. Misrepresents their level of credentials
. Consistently acts in a manner that is unprofessional
Course fees include all course materials unless otherwise indicated and are subject to change depending on the course length and the country where it is given. Refunds are available up to 5 days prior to the start of the course and are subject to a $40 administration fee. Refunds will not be granted after this time but registration can be transferred to another course date. Returned checks are subject to a $25 administration fee.
